Warranty and Returns Policy
The general guarantee
Brownbox Computers warrants that all of its products are in normal condition and meet the manufacturer's recommended usage standards. Brownbox Computers products are either used or refurbished (depends on which product it is). It is therefore normal to see some signs of wear on the surface of the products. The warranty applies to the operation of the product only and must be claimed by the person purchasing from Brownbox Computers, if applicable.
Warranty period
The warranty for parts and accessories (wires, keyboards, mice, chargers, RAM modules and hard drives) is applicable only when they are defective upon arrival at the customer (DOA). In this case, the customer must make a complaint within five (5) days following receipt of the order to the following email address: claim@brownboxcomputers.com
For towers, laptops and monitors sold by Brownbox Computers, the warranty period is ninety (90) days from of the order invoicing date. Batteries in laptops are guaranteed 30 days and tested at maximum capacity for one hour. There may be a different agreement with your account manager regarding warranty. If so, please refer to the warranty performance outside the 90 day period.
Limitations
The product warranty applies only in the case of normal use, for the product, according to the manufacturer's initial standards. This means that certain limitations void the warranty in the event of use deemed to be abusive, in particular:
- Physical damage
- Breakage linked to use outside the conditions of use of the product (example: a product used outdoors in bad weather, even though it is not water resistant)
- Stolen or lost products
- Product used for a function that is not recommended by the manufacturer
- Modified product, other than for the addition or change of the storage unit
Execution of the guarantee
In the event of a complaint, the customer must provide the following information to this email address claim@brownboxcomputers.ca:
- a copy of the initial purchase order or official proof of purchase
- a description or photos of the problem.
The replacement product will be sent by parcel within five (5) days, if the claim is approved. It is possible that Brownbox Computers will carry out certain checks in order to approve the claim or ask the complainant to carry out manipulations before approving.No complaint will be resolved by a refund.
Return Policy
Eligibility for return
Products can be returned within fourteen (14) days following receipt of the order. To be eligible for a return, the product must be in the same condition in which you received it, i.e. without signs of additional wear or damage. Products that have been personalized, modified or misused are not eligible for return.
Return procedure
To make a return, the customer must send an email to claim@brownboxcomputers.com with the following information:
- a copy of the initial purchase order or official proof of purchase
- a description or photos showing that the product is in its original condition
Brownbox Computers will acknowledge receipt of the email and provide return instructions within three (3) business days. Return costs will be the responsibility of the customer, except in the case where the product is defective on arrival.
Refunds and exchanges
Once the product is returned and inspected, Brownbox Computers will send you an email to notify you of receipt of the returned product, as well as approval or rejection of your refund or exchange. If the return is approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method within ten (10) business days, or a replacement product will be sent, at the customer's option.
Exceptions
Sale or clearance items are generally not eligible for returns unless defective on arrival (DOA). Brownbox Computers reserves the right to refuse a return if the conditions set out in this policy are not met.
